The Bissett Perspective

● By Jeremy Bissett
With nine teams now sitting at just two wins apiece, the scramble for the No. 1 overall pick is heating up, setting the stage for a high-stakes Week 10 in the NFL. Meanwhile, top prospect Ashton Jeanty has exploded onto the radar, surpassing 1,500 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns this season. As his draft stock rises, the question looms: could Jeanty make it into the top ten? In Carolina, Bryce Young's recent one-point win over the division-rival Saints has some wondering if the Panthers' investment in him is too substantial to consider moving on. On the other hand, the Saints have fired their head coach Dennis Allen, and are reeling from yet another concussion for Chris Olave. Now projected to have a top-three pick, will New Orleans be eyeing a premier wide receiver? The Browns, Raiders, and Giants sit in the fifth through seventh draft positions, all likely looking for a quarterback. Cleveland may consider a signal-caller from Vinny Testaverde’s old stomping grounds, as Cam Ward continues to outshine Shedeur Sanders on the stat sheet. In addition, this latest mock draft sees two new first-round names: Ohio State OT Josh Simmons and Kentucky CB Maxwell Hairston, who replace Clemson LB Barrett Carter and Arizona OT Jonah Savaiinaea.
