OP: QB Baker Mayfield
Allen or Lamar? I'm taking Allen because of his ability to do more with less.
OP: RB Saquon Barkley
Saquon is really good, but Eli Manning was on his last legs. Sliding in Lamar Jackson would keep the Giants relevant instead of falling into the Danny Dimes free fall.
OP: QB Sam Darnold
This was a difficult choice, as Baker Mayfield was very tempting here. In the end, though, the phenomenal Quenton Nelson won me over.
OP: CB Denzel Ward
Ward has been great for Cleveland, but on the balance, I think Alexander is just a little bit better.
OP: DE Bradley Chubb
Where is Baker gonna go? I keep asking myself that, but Minkah Fitzpatrick is such a great player that it's difficult to take anyone else here.
OP: OG Quenton Nelson
With no Nelson on the board, the Colts go BPA with Fred Warner, who would transform this Indy defense.
OP: QB Josh Allen
I am a firm Tyrod Taylor defender, even though obviously Allen was the right pick here. With no Allen, the Bills stick with Tyrod and take Roquan Smith to embolden their defense.
OP: LB Roquan Smith
With Roquan Smith gone, the Bears instead reinforce their offensive line with Orlando Brown
OP: OT Mike McGlinchey
Tremaine Edmunds is a high quality linebacker and still only the third one off the board.
OP: QB Josh Rosen
Who is the best WR in this draft class? It's an interesting question. The Cardinals had Sam Bradford, who could tide them through for one more season at QB. But with Larry Fitzgerald on his last legs, and no clear WR2, drafting a receiver becomes a top priority. D.J. Moore looks the best of the available options.
OP: S Minkah Fitzpatrick
With no Minkah on the board, the Fins turn their attention to another gaping hole: the fact that they have no viable tight end. Andrews is consistently one of the best tight ends in the league.
OP: DT Vita Vea
Another correct choice! Vea was vital to the Bucs' Super Bowl victory and the right decision for this team.
OP: DT Da'Ron Payne
If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Payne has been a stud ever since he entered the league.
OP: DE Marcus Davenport
Benjamin Watson was the Saints tight end this season. Yikes. Goedert could perfectly compliment receivers Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn Jr and perhaps get them over the edge to that Super Bowl.
OP: OT Kolton Miller
With the only offensive weapons for the Raiders being an aging Jordy Nelson and an injured Marshawn Lynch, it's no wonder the Raiders had such a terrible season. This would have been different with a guy like Calvin Ridley getting targets.
OP: LB Tremaine Edmunds
Edmunds is gone, and the Bills already took a linebacker. Instead, they'll invest in a new QB. In the time since I wrote that last blurb, I googled it and apparently Tyrod had left the Bills' roster by this point. Baker can step in week one and lead this team well.
OP: S Derwin James
Another team drafted correctly! James is a phenomenal DB who transforms this Chargers defense.
OP: CB Jaire Alexander
With Alexander going much earlier, the Packers instead turn to their backfield. Aaron Jones hadn't yet broken out, so they clearly didn't have many great options at RB. Chubb is consistently one of the best runners in the league and a quality choice.
OP: LB Leighton Vander Esch
With the retirement of Jason Witten, the Cowboys could benefit from a franchise tight end. Admittedly, they ended up with Schultz later in real life, but in this redraft, there's no way he slides much further.
OP: C Frank Ragnow
If the center position were just more valuable, Ragnow would be a top five pick. As it were, the Lions get lucky and end up with their franchise center again.
OP: C Billy Price
Williams, before his horrific ACL injury last year, was one of the best centers in football. A massive upgrade from Price.
OP: LB Rashaan Evans
Chubb's slide ends here, and he brings a needed force to a weak defensive line.
OP: OG Isaiah Wynn
Wynn is good, but the Patriots would be an insanely better team with a better running back than James White in the backfield. Imagine Saquon on the Patriots. That's a scary thought.
OP: WR DJ Moore
Sutton isn't that much of a downgrade from Moore, and he'll still greatly help the Panthers.
OP: TE Hayden Hurst
Getting a cornerback to star opposite Marlon Humphrey would be a massive step towards building the Ravens into contenders.
OP: WR Calvin Ridley
Without Ridley on the board, the Falcons choose to reinforce their o-line.
OP: RB Rashaad Penny
The Seahawks' number one priority should always be their secondary. With Kam Chancellor having injury concerns. and no other real threats in the defensive backfield, adding Edmunds could empower the Legion of Boom again.
OP: S Terrell Edmunds
With Ryan Shazier being left paralyzed, the Steelers needed a new MLB. During Shaq Leonard's career, he was consistently one of the best, and possibly would still be playing today if he had any defensive support. The Steelers had that.
OP: DT Taven Bryan
Harold Landry's slide on draft day in real life needs to be studied, right next to that of Lamar Jackson. Here, the Jags pick him up to reinforce their defense.
OP: CB Mike Hughes
The key to winning with Kirk Cousins is giving him time to make plays. The Vikings originally grabbed O'Neill later, but they can't afford to do that now.
OP: RB Sony Michel
McGlinchey has been a consistent tackle in the league, and could slot in and protect Tom Brady very effectively.
OP: QB Lamar Jackson
Selecting a different running back here is a fine consolation prize... in all seriousness, though, the Ravens had almost no RBs this season, a void that can be filled by Ronald Jones.
