The see-through curtain rises on the NFL season on Wednesday. While a large portion of free agency feels like it’s already completed, that’s only because the facade of the legal tampering period has been going on. On Monday at noon, NFL teams were allowed to “begin” negotiating with other club’s free agents. Of course, illegal tampering had been going on, and the deals which had begun developing during the scouting combine started to get leak. The Dallas Cowboys, of course, are not part of this group of teams with something to show for the previous 48 hours. The Cowboys haven’t agreed to terms with a single player from outside the organization. The only returning player thus far is long snapper Trent Sieg and five of their former players have already found themselves new homes. When Jerry Jones said the club would be all-in for 2024, the fans took things entirely differently from how it seems he meant it.
