With the Cleveland Browns not selecting until the 54th pick in the second round and having a general manager in Andrew Berry who is often inclined to trade down, my focus has been on the process the organization employs to maximize their opportunities. But since there are only a few days remaining until the draft takes place, I wanted to put that process into action in the form of the only mock draft I'm going to write this year. I have opted to use Arif Hasan's consensus board which averages the rankings of over 75 analysts. No simulators or trades to manipulate. Just going to play the board as it lies with the picks the Browns have. In other words, I can't pick anyone rated above where the selection is. The players are important and there's no shortage of reasoning behind the selections made, but it also folds in a process that is hopefully similar to what the Browns do with their picks. Focus on premium positions as often as possible. Those positions where if they hit, the team has a player of significant value but also saves the team money against the cap. Positions that don't often hit the open market. The Browns still need to select the players they believe in the most, but the more often those players are at those money spots, the better.
